autocross

What do I bring?

  • You
  • A car – almost any car
  • Driver’s license
  • Your signed speed waiver on your phone

In addition here is a suggested checklist to pack

  • Bring plenty of water. It’s a long day and you don’t want to be dehydrated. Bring at least 1 gallon of water per person – more on a hot day.
  • You can order lunch when you register or bring your own.
  • Bring snacks. You’ll work up an appetite.
  • A helmet with a rating acceptable for autocross if you own one. If you don’t, then you can borrow one from the club. The helmet must be rated Snell MA2015 (or later) or Snell SA2015 (or newer).
  • You will be asked to empty everything out of the car for safety. Bring a plastic bin or some container to store all your belongings.
  • Suntan lotion
  • Bring extra clothes. If it’s cold, bring extra layers for warmth. If it’s raining, bring extra clothes that are dry, so you can change if you want. Sometimes you need all these clothes in the same day.
    • Speaking of rain-we run in the rain. We stop only for lightning.
  • Lawn chair so you can sit down during lunch. There is no sitting while working the course.
  • Painter’s tape so you can tape numbers on your car. Everyone gets a number. That’s how we know who you are. Try to get tape that is a contrasting color to your car. Blue tape on a blue car can be hard to read.
  • If you own any of the following, then bring them. If you don’t own them, don’t buy them. You can borrow from someone else at the event, if you need them.
    • Air pump
    • Air pressure gauge
    • Torque wrench
