The Boston Chapter of the BMW CCA is hosting a scenic driving tour of Western Maine exploring the beauty of New England’s last days of fall.
The Driving Tour will be held over the 2nd weekend of November with our base being the Jordan Hotel and Conference Center at Sunday River. We will have multiple routes of approximately 140 miles for each route, all of which will have many scenic overlooks, river crossings, wildlife opportunities, some side trips and more.
This driving tour is not a rally or timed event, more of a self paced driving tour through some spectacular scenery with the chance to stop and take in attractions along the route. The first one back to the Hotel will just have more time to enjoy the hotel’s amenities so take your time and explore.
While the ‘structured’ driving tour is on Saturday we have planned for the following:
Friday, November 8th
- Check In time at Hotel is 4 pm
- Take advantage of outdoor heated pool, exercise room or tour the area.
- Informal gathering meet and greet plus registration in Bar (Cash Bar)
- Dinner on your own
Saturday, November 9th
- Breakfast on your own (Dining Room or Café at the hotel or Something of your own choice)
- Drivers meeting 9am in a room to be announced.
- First cars off at 9:30 Three at a time on different routes at different intervals
- Lunch on your own with a Bagged Lunch Picnic or stop at a local restaurant.
- Check in at registration when you arrive back.
- 6pm Plated Dinner a room to be announced (Cash Bar) Dinner Cost per person $45
- 8pm Informal gathering at bar (Cash Bar)
Sunday, November 10th
- You are free to stay as long as you wish, or leave whenever you wish.
- but – Check Out time is 10:30 am
