SUMMARY:Autocross Series
DESCRIPTION:The 2018 Autocross Series is open to Boston Chapter BMW CCA members. If you are not a member of the Boston Chapter BMW CCA\, you may join for only $48 per year. If you are a BMW CCA member\, you may add the Boston Chapter to your current membership.\nPlease be sure to read the rules prior to attending an event.\nRegistration\nThe charge for each Autocross event is $50.You must register for each event separately. After you are accepted for the event\, you will be sent an Acceptance email\, which will also contain payment details. The Boston Chapter will be using PayPal to accept payment for this event. Payment for each event is due as soon as the PayPal request is received. Failure to pay within a reasonable timeframe will result in your registration cancellation so waitlisted drivers would be given an opportunity to participate. If you have to cancel an event\, please give us as much notice as possible so waitlisted drivers can have an opportunity to participate. There will be no refunds under any circumstances.\n\nFor more information\, please see Eligibility and Registration.\nEvent Management\nWe will have a new course for every event. Mandatory Drivers’ meeting starts ~ 8:00 am. Miss the Driver’s meeting\, and you cannot run.\nTwo run groups will again be the format for 2018.  We will have a half-hour lunch break and you will have the option to order (cash only) a sub for $8 and a soda or water for $1 the morning of the event.\nTech Inspections\nAll competitors will need to pass a Tech Inspection. However\, every driver will have a choice: New or casual competitors in either BMWs or other makes will be able to tech as usual. The morning of EACH event get into the Tech line and have your car teched. Or\, for more serious competitors there is a process which will lead to an Annual Tech sticker.\nIf a BMW driver wishes to qualify for the season’s championship within their respective classes\, they will need to complete and turn in an Inspection and Modifications Form (IMF). The IMF will need to be completed and brought to the first event. The IMF includes a full disclosure of modifications\, a calculation of points\, and intended autocross class.\nAutocross staff will give the car a tech inspection\, successful completion of which will result in a 2018 Tech Sticker. After you have your AnnualTech Sticker\, no further tech inspection will be needed for the season (we reserve the right to conduct random inspections). The only exception will be cars running R-compound tires which will require a wheel bearing check each event.\nNon-BMW drivers may also have their cars teched once and receive an Annual Tech Inspection sticker. No IMF form is required for non-BMWs.\nMeanwhile\, if you’re a casual autocrosser\, perhaps a first timer who just wants to come out and have a bit of fun and try the sport\, simply find your model and year on the “Model Grid”\, fill in the IMF\, register and show up. We’ll perform a safety inspection and you’ll be ready to go.\nClick here to get the Model Grid.\nSchedule\nThe 2018 schedule includes eight regular season events\, two Novice Autocross School\, and a 2-day Evolution Autocross School (in partnership with NER SCCA) and a Test and Tune. You will have to get points in at least 4 regular season events to qualify for a trophy.\nMore Autocross Series Information \n\nClasses\, Points\, and Trophies: Car classification\, season points\, and trophies awarded.\nEligibility and Registration: Driver eligibility\, event registration\, no-show policy\, cancellations\, and refunds.\nDay Of Event Information: Daily autocross schedule\, visitor policy\, tech inspections\, work policy\, and course assignment.\nDirections To Site: Directions to the autocross site.\nCar Classification: Determine your car’s autocross class.\n\nhttps://www.motorsportreg.com/events/boston-bmw-cca-autocross-points-event-3-devens-airfield-853389

SUMMARY:2018 90-Minute Karting Enduro
DESCRIPTION:Do you have what it takes to run a 90-minute kart race? Our third outdoor karting event of the season will be a team endurance event.  Fifteen teams of 3 or 4 drivers will compete for outdoor bragging rights. There will be 7 mandatory pit stops\, but their timing and the scheduling of driver changes is determined by each team. The objective is to run fast\, run clean\, and not get hung up in pit lane for too long.\nEverything is bigger and faster at the X1 Outdoors track in East Bridgewater\, MA.  We will be running our event on the Grand Prix Circuit which is nearly 1 mile long.  The karts are also more powerful and can reach speeds in excess of 50 mph.  While this may not seem fast in the luxurious confines of your “Ultimate Driving Machine”\, sitting a couple of inches from the ground with no suspension\, you’ll definitely become one with the kart – and those corners will come up on you really fast!\nThis is real wheel-to-wheel racing without the expense of maintaining your own club race car\, and the g-forces exceed anything you’ll experience at a driving school or autocross.  These open-wheel racing karts offer a great way to learn about car control.  You can see exactly where the wheels are pointed\, and then compare their location with what direction the kart actually ends up going.  Then\, your next time around the track\, you can alter your line and see how the kart responds to your new inputs.\nBest of all\, you need only arrive and drive – be 18 years old and have a valid drivers license  You can certainly bring your own full-face helmet or driving suit if you own them\, but if you don’t\, X1 Outdoors provides all the necessary equipment.  For safety sake\, be sure to wear closed-toe shoes.\nSo plan to join the fun this Summer and Fall on the same track that professional kart racers drive in their shifter karts at speeds exceeding 100 mph.  If you wish to learn more about the X1 Outdoors facility\, what they like to call the “gold standard of kart racing venues”\, go to their website at X1outdoors.com.\n\nYou may register either individually or as a team. SUMMARY:Karting in the Great Outdoors
DESCRIPTION:After the success of our indoor Karting Challenge Series\, we’re venturing into the great outdoors for a different kind of karting excitement.  Our first outdoor karting event of the season is scheduled for Sunday October 7th and will be an individual event.  Three qualifying races will determine the 15 grid position for the final\, with the winner taking a victory lap and receiving their trophy.\nEverything is bigger and faster at the X1 Outdoors track in East Bridgewater\, MA. If you wish to learn more about the X1 Outdoors facility\, what they like to call the “gold standard of kart racing venues”\, go to their website at x1outdoors.com.\nAll  individual registrants are expected to be members of the BMWCCA or affiliated clubs with whom we have reciprocity for their events.  Be prepared to show a valid membership card when you arrive at the event. You may also bring a guest provided they are paid for at the time of registration.\nHere are the details:\n· The event will be held at X1 Outdoors in East Bridgewater\, MA and will be run on their Grand Prix Circuit. For more information about the facility (including directions)\, visit their website at X1outdoors.com.\n· The individual entry fee is $90.\n· Registration opens August 17th and will close October 5th\, but since only 30 drivers can participate\, sign up early to ensure you secure a place on the starting grid.\n· Arrive promptly at 11:00am on Sunday October 7th to sign waivers\, be weighed-in\, hear the safety briefing\, and have X1 assign and post the race lineups.\n· The qualifying races will commence at 12:00 pm.\n· The trophy ceremony will take place at about 1:30 p.m.\n· Should we have severe weather Sunday morning\, please call 508-350-1000 to confirm that the event will still take place.  If Mother Nature forces us to cancel\, we will re-schedule later this summer\, and anyone unable to make the new date will receive a full refund.\n· CANCELLATION/REFUND POLICY: Other than if we are forced to cancel the event due to severe weather\, in order to receive a refund of your entry fee\, you must cancel ten days prior to the event AND we must find another driver to take your spot in the event. All cancellations requiring a refund will be charged a $10 processing fee regardless of when they are received.\nAny questions about the event can be addressed to Brandon Mulkern.

SUMMARY:Street Survival - Advanced Driving Safety for Teens
DESCRIPTION:It’s more than driving – it’s about living!\nThe primary emphasis of Tire Rack Street Survival is a “hands-on” driving experience in real-world situations! We use your own car to teach you about its handling limits and how you can control them.\nThe students will become more observant of the traffic situation they find themselves in. They will learn to look far enough ahead to anticipate unwise actions of other drivers. As the students master the application of physics to drive their cars\, they will make fewer unwise driving actions themselves. They will understand why they should always wear their own seat-belts\, and why they should insist that their passengers wear seat-belts\, too!\nCLICK HERE FOR REGISTRATION AND DETAILS
