DESCRIPTION:Following the successes of last year’s High Peaks Drive (HPD) through the Adirondack mountains hosted by the Patroon chapter\, and the Ultimate X Fall Foliage Driving Tour of the Finger Lakes hosted by the X Chapter\, combined efforts will bring an even better driving tour in 2023\, and they’ve extended the invitation to the Boston Chapter! \nJoin us for an unforgettable weekend filled with breathtaking views of the tallest mountains in New York State\, against the vibrant backdrop of autumn as can only be experienced in the vast and majestic Adirondack Park. \nBased on the previous year’s High Peaks Drive (HPD) route\, we’ve added over 200 miles to the route with lots of twisty mountain roads recommended by Patroon’s own local expert\, Peter Weyrauch. \nTaking inspiration from the October 2022 Ultimate X Fall Foliage Driving Tour\, we have a transformed the HPD from a simple BMW driving event into a 2 night / 3 day BMW extravaganza based out of Lake Placid. Destinations include Rulf’s Orchard\, Paradox Brewery\, and the historic Fort Ticonderoga where the weekend concludes. DESCRIPTION:@The track venue with support of HMS Motorsport and Palmer Motorsports Park – APRIL 13th\, 2024 (9:30am to 1pm-ish) \nIf you’ve ever wondered what its like to take your car out for a track day\, or what it takes to compete in an Autocross\, we have the perfect opportunity to discover how the Boston Chapter of the BMW CCA  hosts our events and how easy it is for you to get started. \nYou are invited to join us at Palmer Motorsports Park on Saturday\, April 13th for our annual ground school. Track day Driver Education and Autocross programs are some of our most popular in the BMW CCA and this event will use an interactive classroom session with the optional opportunity to participate in  parade laps to give an overview of what you can expect on track. Our long time sponsor HMS Motorsport will be on site to talk through safety equipment and Helmets in particular. HMS is headquartered in North Carolina but also has a location right here in Danvers MA. Check out their website for more information on their extensive involvement in all forms of motorsport and for directions to their store at www.hmsmotorsport.com. \nOur plan is to provide an overview of our driving events program with particular focus on Track Day\, Driver Education and Autocross. We’ll go through where events are held\, fundamentals of driver technique and how we coach them. We’ll walk through how to get ready for an event\, what your first event looks like and especially how addictively fun these events can be. \nPre-event registration is highly recommended with online registration at $40 per person and on site\, day of event registration at $60 per person. The day will start with a continental breakfast at 9:30am with the presentation session getting underway at 10am sharp. We should end the classroom session around noon and then HMS will provide a pizza lunch during which you can talk with the event organizers and instructors. The HMS team will have some of their safety equipment inventory on hand\, especially if you want to try on a helmet\, something very difficult to do on-line. Towards the end of the lunch period you will have the option to participate in some parade laps around the Palmer Motorsports race track. You are not required to participate in parade laps to attend the ground school but these will give you a flavour for what you can expect at a DE event.    Guests (18+) may be registered for $20 per person. \nParade Laps? Drivers (and their passengers 18 years and older) will drive several laps of the race track at reduced speed\, behind a pace car. No helmets are required. These parade laps will allow you the time to see the race track in it’s entirety while getting a feel for what a full on track day experience would be like. \nWho should attend? \nOur event is open to driving enthusiasts interested in becoming a better driver and learning about our 2022 Driving Events Season. This event is open to members of the BMW CCA as well as non members who can register to join the club at this MEMBERSHIP link or at the venue on the day of the event. ADSS (Advanced Driving Skills School) is designed to introduce and develop car control skills\, but AC3 will help take your car control to the next level! \nInformation for Students \n There are a very limited number of student slots available for this event to ensure maximum seat time. \nThis is a half day event with morning and afternoon sessions available. Plan to arrive by 45 minutes before your start time. End of day will be noon for the morning session and 5 PM for the afternoon session. \nOverview \nTheory –  Each session begins with a “chalk talk”\, wherein our instructors explain vehicle dynamics\, the techniques students will be taught\, and summarize the exercises for the day. \nSkid Pad – The practical exercises include spending part of the session on the skid pad learning and practicing: understeer\, oversteer\, throttle steering\, and power-slides. DESCRIPTION:The Boston Chapter of the BMW CCA invites you to have your car Judged or enter Display Only in our famous Concurs d’ Elegance.  We would also like to thank our Title Sponsor\, BMW of Norwood\, and our Major Sponsors\, Import AutoWerks of Quincy and Sansossio Auto Couture of Natick. \nWe are hosting at the Prowse Farm facility\, located at 5 Blue Hill River Road in Canton\, MA. \nNOTE:  There is no sign for Prowse Farm.  Please look for the sign for MEDITECH upon arrival to the venue. \nRegister Here at MSR: msreg.com/concours-8-4-24 \nThe event will run from 9:00AM until 2:00PM. There will be a $5 charge for spectator parking. \nBMW CCA members are welcome to show any BMW marque and Mini. \nOur Concurs serves as the top-ranking collector competition\, for both new and classic cars\, in the BMW family\, in Canton\, on this particular Sunday. It is also the event to which our members can bring their car along with your friends and families to park on the lawn and enjoy the company of like-minded enthusiasts. Initially this event was modeled on the early European Concurs that showcased new cars but the Boston BMW CCA Concurs welcomes classics as well as your brand new electric i4 or iX. \nThe Concurs d’ Elegance is a competition of sophistication and refinement where automobiles are judged for their style and technical merit\, as well as their history\, cleanliness and the accuracy of their preservation or restoration—and the best win a trophy. \nPlease review the event details below. \nWhether you intend to enter the Judged competition or just Display Only\, there is reduced pricing for pre-registering online  versus showing up on the Day of the Event. \nThere will be two main categories for this Concours: \n\n‘Judged Cars’  will be evaluated by our Judges.\n‘Display Only Cars’ While your car is not specifically judged\, it could still win a Peoples Choice Award.\n\nPre-Registration is encouraged as this event is very popular and lawn space can become limited. \n\n\n\nRegistration Type\nPre-Registration Pricing (ends 7/28/24)\nPrice Day of the Event\n\n\nJudged Cars\n$30 (includes MSR $2 booking fee)\n$40\n\n\nDisplay Only \n$30 (includes MSR $2 booking fee)\n$40\n\n\n\nIMPORTANT –  RULES AND CLASSIFICATIONS \nThe rules and information (Classification of Groups/Classes\, Judging\, Scoring) that you will need to participate in Concurs this year are listed in the Concurs Rules and Classification document below.   Be sure to download and read the document.    This should give some guidance on how to prepare your car. \n2024 CONCOURS RULES AND CLASSIFICATIONS.pdf \nRain or Shine Event\nNo refunds after July 28\, 2024 \n
