Usually, there is some gunk w/in the lifter that alters its ability to pump up &amp; stay that way.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;We've had good luck adding 1/2 a quart of mystery oil and running it through one oil service cycle (about 5000 miles). I am guessing that the 5W30 is too light. A mechanic during a recent undercarriage inspection suggested BMW's 5W60. Of course, I use a synthetic.
