MT. Tremblant DE / Time Trial Aug 4-5

Anyone attending the Bimmers Across the Border event (8/8 - 8/10) who wants to make spend a week at Mt Tremblant can register for the COM Sports Car Club event on Monday-Tuesday (8/4 - 8/5). There promises to be a lot of track time due to the low numbers of registrants, the club is trying to minimze their losses and will be offering over 6 hours of track sessions to participants. Novices will be given instructor both days, but most people will be signed off to drive solo the 2nd day and participate in the time trial if they wish.

The Rolex Vintage Festival is one of the largest vintage automobile celebrations in the East, showcasing a diverse field of race cars on Friday, Saturday and Monday that can span eight decades, from timeless pre-war classics to the roar of historic Trans-Am machines and exotic prototypes from the 1980s.

The BMW Car Club typically has a marquee and the early lucky few get a chance to do some show laps around the circuit!

COM NHMS event April 7-8 cancelled due to snow (!)

I hope the White Mountain event on the 18th is OK. That's a lot of snow to melt. I've got the car all ready.... new control arms and tie rods, oil, plugs, rotors, pads, rebuilt a caliper. I'm so ready for Spring. :P

Hey guys and gals! As long as the ice has melted, NJBMWCCA is happy to say we will be at LRP again this year for a normal, full-day event on 4 April (Friday). You know it's getting harder to get a full day at this great track and we're excited to start our season this way. We have a long history at LRP - 34 yrs (!) - when we held the first BMWCCA driver school (ever) at LRP. We've been back every year since and hope to continue the tradition. Please come join us!

trying to get critical mass together to hire aaron povoledo to do some semi-private coaching at this event. As a ballpark figure, if we had 4 people, the coaching cost would be about the same as the pure event cost. I know of two interested people so far.

many experienced drivers have improved by 1 second or more after a coached weekend. you might not get that out of a supercharger.

aaron is a pro driver but he holds the lap record at wgi for cmod by about 2 seconds (he borrowed brian read's car for a few laps).

my only commercial interest in this is a desire to share costs.

COM sports car club has picked up the Apr 21-22 dates at the Glen. DE on Monday, open track + time trial Tuesday. Due to limited registration and the 3.5+ mile circuit, there will be a ton of track time. COM membership is required but the membership fee is applied toward your 1st event fee, so membership is basically free. Novice drivers are eligible to drive both days, and almost all students are signed off to solo the 2nd day unless they do something stupid the 1st day or request an instructor the 2nd day.

SCCA RallyCross 1/26 & 1/27 Stafford Springs, CT

The New England Region of the SCCA is holding a RallyCross at Stafford Motor Speedway in Stafford Springs, CT.

Come out and try your car off the pavement! Surface is packed dirt, frozen with likely snowcover.

There are 3 events being held:

2. NER Regional points event 1/27 Open to ALL

3. SCCA National Challenge event: Afternoon of 1/26 & morning of 1/27. Entry includes participation in events 1&2 if desired or #1 can be used for practice. Open to SCCA members only.

Boston isn't currently offering events at Lime Rock. If you've never been there, it's worth experiencing at least once. It is short, but historic and fun. The event that NJ put on last year was snowed out, I think.

Mid Summer Heat III at LCMT

Hello folks,

After much deliberation, the club has decided to do the Mid Summer Heat III event (at Mont Tremblant) on Saturday and Sunday, July 12 and 13, 2008. It was not an easy decision to make, there were so many factors to consider. The announcement for this event will be up by this weekend. Registration will start on Monday January 21st. The first 25 registrants will qualify for the super early bird pricing.

White Mountain Chapter NHMS HPDE dates

The NH-based White Mountain Chapter (wmc-bmwcca.org) has announced some confirmed dates at NHIS, er, NHMS (New Hampshire Motor Speedway). These are:

Track Dates are:
April 18
August 25

In addition, we trade off with them running the October NHMS event, and this year they will be supporting us in October. (Dates still being worked on.)

The WMC will also be running Advanced Driving Safety Schools (just as we do), but with dates to support the above events. Check back with their website for a Street Survival event (crash avoidance training for teen drivers), a Mini-only ADSS, and a hill climb.

I'm posting their HPDE dates here to help those that go to both WMC and Boston Chapter events plan their driving schedule for 2008. You'll find many of the same friendly faces at both chapters' events.

Winter Ice At Mecaglisse Feb 2,3

The Montreal guys like this event a lot. It is quite a drive. You have to become a member of bmw club of quebec, but this is something like $40.

Winter Ice at Mecaglisse
The event is run by the Eastern Canada Chapter with help from the NEQ (Northeast) Chapter of Audi Club of North America (ACNA) and the BMW Club of Quebec.
On behalf of the Eastern Canada and NEQ Chapters of Audi Club of North America and the BMW Club of Quebec, eventmasters Wendy and Alan Bellavance invite you to a 2 day winter driving school on February 2 and 3 (Saturday and Sunday), with an additional open track day for instructors on February 1 (Friday). The School will be held at the Mecaglisse complex near St. Donat, Quebec, approx. 1 ¼ hour north of Montreal.

Each driver must complete this registration form even if you are sharing a car.
A hot 3 course meal will be served at lunchtime each day of the event in the chalet by the fire. Cost of the lunches is included in the event fee (participants 2 lunches, instructors 3 lunches).

Entry fee:
- Student (2 days, Feb 2 , 3) : $225.00 CAN

- Instructor, must be certified by Canada Chapter or NEQ,
(Friday track day, Feb. 1, plus instruct Feb 2, 3): $120.00 CAN

Mid-Ohio is now my favorite track. Talk about elevation changes. There are three unweighted corners, one where you can see air under 4 wheels on a stiff car, and one where you can slide as far as you want to (at least). two carousels. very high speed corners. linked corners.

I'm going. I'm interested in caravanning. I've rented a garage (2 car area to share at the track) I can share if there is interest. It's a 12 hour drive. One vacation day to drive there. Memorial day to drive back.

And of course the nightlife in the middle of ohio is like nothing youve ever seen in the northeast.
