Hello,

I’d like some clarifications on the “No timing device” rule for drivers eds.

I have a DL1 data logger with no onboard display.  I have to download the data to my laptop to get any information.  Does it still count as a timing device then?

It’s a really handy tool to analyze a run on the race track and it would be a shame if it was banned.

Thanks,

Kolia

I've never seen someone get in trouble for having a datalogger.

Don't rub the datalogger in the official's noses.

don't go around telling people what your laptimes were.

It's not good if you can see results while you are driving
for instance, I have seen people get in trouble for having a hotlap timer they could see.
the rationale is that this makes you try to beat the last lap, etc....

Lots of people have discreet dataloggers.
